Fire and Brimstone 2014 will be March 22-23 this year ( one week post the Antique Arms Show in Baltimore)

Yet again it is hard to believe it has been a year already.

Crazy busy year here at Baltimore Knife and Sword.  Even more sanders(10+ Baders now!), more roof and so many more blades.

We have purchased a band new Iron Kiss 75 lb hammer for the shop.

Yes, Yes  Doug has indeed confirmed so at least that is settled!

Mark Green, Jesus Hernandez and Zeb will be having a crazy charcoal burning smeltfest like last year.

Jeff Pringle will be in charge of the alternate fuels and crucibles.

Ilya and Sam are still here full time with us.

There is noise about a damascus firearm build this year.

We will be packing up the shop this later this year and be demonstrators at the ABANA conference.  This will be a chance to share ahead of time what we have in mind for the event.

I'm sure more of the demonstrators will lock in now that we are posting dates.

Something you would like to see? Post it here and we will add everything we can.
We will be limiting attendance to 60. Registration will be $75 for the entire weekend to offset our costs. Vendors and tailgating is encouraged at no additional fee and will have separate parking, trailers allowed.

Please let us know if you plan to bring anything that will need forklifting and we will have one available.

Please visit our site http://www.fireandbrimstone.com We will update the event section over this next week. Feel free to use the registration sheet as is in case you get there before us.

The site will include accommodations, Schedule, and Artists/Demonstrators. We are still rebuilding the site but it is live now and registration is open. I will be talking to the local hotel to see if we can get group rates. Breakfast and lunch are provided, grills are open for anything you wish to bring or share! Camping is encouraged but weather in Maryland is always suspect! The later dates should help us out quite a bit. The first year we had snow, 2nd year it was down right warm and sunny, 3rd well we had a little water, 4th Having a roof makes all the difference!!.... There are bathrooms(spot-a-pots) but no showers.

Raisins have been soaking in Buffalo Trace since August 23rd.  They are almost ready for the carrot cake.

Working like crazy to have the post anvil project ready to do the Damascus top plate weld.  I will need a few volunteer strikers to make that weld.  For more details see the thread in Tools and Tool Making.

Expect the usual spread Friday evening plus a surprise or two.

This is my favorite event of the year.  Thanks again to Kerry, Matt and company for putting it together.  -Doug

It looks like I will be able to make it this year, as all the conflicting events are happening the week before or 2 weeks after this year!   Might be able to caravan down with someone else from the new england area (will have to see)  and I'll bring down my collection of authentic viking artifacts for people to see and (gently) handle.

The smith also sitteth by the anvil,
And fighteth with the heat of the furnace,
And noise of the hammer and the anvil is ever in his ears,
And his eyes look still upon the pattern of the thing that he maketh,
He setteth his mind to finish his work,
And waitethto polish it perfectly.

We would love to have you and if you do decide to come, let me know if you would like to demo. Even if you don't do an official demo there is plenty of hands on time, but I'd like to list you as a demonstrator if you would like.

Patrick Hastings is coming. I'm pretty excited to see his work and meet him.
