The knife came out nice and hey, the leather work looks great.

That is looking good.

That's nice pattern, beautiful wood too.

Dave, just make sure you get a video of it. I would probably have better luck with the lightning! Wade I'll have to send you some pictures of where I go hunting, my daughter is in Florida right for school and she misses the hills.

I used a propane tank and drilled and tapped a carefully shaped piece of 1/4 X 1" to the side of it for a one piece foot and burner holder. Lined it with bricks and mortar it takes a little time to warm up but it gets and stays hot.

Very cool. -
Very cool photo, to me it's hard to go very wrong with copper. How did you get the lighter? Oh, and I like your knife, it's rough but not "slapped" together. I don't make folders but when I see ones like this I think about trying, sometime.

I went grouse hunting about three weeks ago and my wife and I saw this tree. I had heard about lightning hitting a tree and doing this but until now I had never actually seen it quite like this. We had a really bad lightning storm that lit a 6,000 acre fire about 2 miles from my house. I think this happened when that storm passed over. Well today we went to the same area but remembered the camera specifically for a shot of this tree. As you can see from the first picture the top is gone.

Pretty cool Wade I like the whole thing especially the texturing.

It looks good, I'm thinking the bog oak would look good with the forge finish. But that's just my opinion.

Very nice work Richard, never heard of that wood before it's good looking.
-
Very nice I really like the mechanism too.
-
Very nice Alan the handles really go good with them, I have never tried belt lube that's a good tip. I thought your first picture was some dark beer about to be fermented, the hops are finishing here.

VERY nice,.... nice texturing I like it a lot.

Wade the whole rig is very cool.

Kevin those look great, I have been working on a few that can be made in less than 5 to 6 hours, but they don't look too good. The one with the purple heart looks great it looks like a good user I like the forged finish on them too.
