Thanks alot guys should have a matching sword in the works. Got a couple other katanas to finish first. The one will take a while since it has a 36 inch blade.

Here is a tanto i have just finished up. It is made from extra improved plow steel cable, actually 4 cables then folded a couple of times. It was clay coated and quenched in water. The blade length is 10 3/4 inches and the overall length is 14 1/2 inches. It is a beefy little blade being just under 1 3/4 inches wide at the base and a 1/4 inch thick on the spine tapering to the point. It is razor sharp and i don't think I have any finger prints left on my right hand from polishing. Here are some pics, sorry about the quality not very good at the whole picture taking thing.

Thanx Sam I am almost finished the fuller on the other Tanto, Then i can finish polishing it should be posting by next weekend. I havn't had alot of time lately for blades. Just bought a house in the country and I am in the process of packing.

Well i managed to get this one done in my spare time, It has been a busy summer between house hunting and work. Anyways this cable tanto is made from extra improved plow steel. The blade is 9 inches long with an overall length of 12.75 inches. It was made from 3 pieces of cable twisted up, then stacked, then folded a couple of times. Sam I agree with Mr B norris. The wire idea sounds pretty good, maybe with a matching natural looking wooden sheath, with the wire thing applied to it some how matching the sword grip. What ever you decide i'am sure will turn out in your favour.

Great looking piece Chris overall a beautiful knife. As far as tradition goes, i would not worry about it. It is a knife and it looks like it cuts. Good job.
