  1. Heh, I've not been here for a while, have I? Hope no-one forgot about me? Anyways, here's what I've been up to since the last time I came here: Scandi in O-1, brass, oak, etc. These went down well over at British Blades. Mahogany's nice to look at. As is Oak. Scary-lookin' dagger. Hope you've enjoyed my pics. -Nick-
  2. I get...one or two a year, and I still don't know what causes them. There's no pain, I just lose sight in my left eye temporarily. Then it's business as usual.
  3. Short wide one goes on the shelf, next to the failed billets, for posterity. Longer one is going to be folded a few times later, to 144 or so layers, and turned into a knife. I should get it done before the week's out, if my supply of charcoal holds up
  4. http://img145.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00110de4.jpg That's the only one so far, both in O-1 and mild steel, and no major faults in either.

'S either a brachiopod or a bivalve.. What rock did you find them in?
  6. =D O-1 and mild. This was only a test, to see if i was capable of making the stuff, and I've got to say, I'm pleased with the results, even if they weren't what I expected... 'Kay then, next time it's more and thinner layers, foldin' and pattern manipulation, with a view to making a finished knife!
  7. That looks delicious... Need a dutch oven now...
  8. 'Fraid not. It can't be too hard to make on though. The quality isn't helped by the fact that I took the pictures on my phone..
  9. Bas'cally, yes. Any excuse for a party, y'know?
  10. Some people'd say it's a celebration of the fact that he tried. Others'd celebrate the fact that he lost, and didn't blow up the king. Co-incidentally, he'd have taken Parliament out as well, causing al sorts of pandemonium, and certainly more hrm than good. Today, it's just an excuse to have a bonfire, drink some beer, get some freinds over, and let off some fireworks. However, I seen no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.

I also like workin' with mahogany, it seems nice enough to work. Oh, right. 4-inch drop-point blade on O-1 with a full height convex grind, brass pins, mahogany scales.
  12. It's...was...the day we sent you little fellers out into the world to make your own destiny. We're so proud! Ahem...Next good celebration's the fifth of november, when we celebrate the day when catholics didn't blow up the king.
  13. We added blue and white bits, so you can see us coming in any weather
  14. Happy independence day. Know that we'll be back.
