  4. hello folk, seeing bruce´s post i thought i join.... a friend of mine wanted a big knife for his medieval costume, he´s doing medieval music so i ordered a lauri leuku and because i´m a little silly i decided to build an gotland style sheath.... so blade lauri leuku, handle walnut, rec. stone lapis lazuli, sheath veg. tanned lather and guess what the metal is ;o) ok it´s not really medieval but... i learned a lot doing this and i will do it again but i made so many mistakes i could understand if my friend wants a sheath without any... see for yourselves critics as always welcome! cheers belabear

  6. hello folk, a friend of mine wanted a big knife for his medieval costume, he´s doing medieval music (he´s the drummer boy ;o) ) so i ordered a lauri leuku and because i´m a little silly i decided to build an gotland style sheath.... with the help of petr´s tutorial (still unfinished, petr you lazybone!) so blade lauri leuku, handle walnut, rec. stone lapis lazuli, nickel silver, sheath veg. tanned lather and, i ran out of nickel silver, aluminium (not authentic but for the first try...) i learned a lot doing this and i will do it again but i made so many mistakes i could understand if my friend wants a sheath without any... see for yourselves critics as always welcome! cheers belabear

  11. hello folk, got an order from a friend of mine, blue blooded as can be, but a very nice person.... hmmmmm still a big kid aproaching the middle 30´s ok here´s the knife: blade: poul strande handle: snakewood and alder? sheath: veg. tanned leather, with his coat of arms what do you think? cheers belabear
