About Me
Hello Everyone,
I am glad to join this forum. I am a Forensic Psychologist and professor by day. I spend my time teaching about mental illness, law, and policy. I study how to tell when people are reporting completely and honestly when you interview them.
I am also a displaced Texas farm boy (on the inside, anyway). So, I grew up in a culture of self reliance and working with my hands. I was reloding shotgun shells before I could read, and I made tools including knives as needed for farm work. I was also into archery and bowhunting, and I made knives and arrowheads from stock removal. But, that was a long time ago! I don't hunt, anymore.
I also spend a lot of time with my family (wife and stepson). I am a lucky man.
I missed working with my hands, and I have taken up bladesmithing as a hobby (in 2009). I am a bit of a geek (225lb geek, so I can swing a hammer, but geek nonetheless). I have spent a lot of time reading and researching all I can get my hands on about bladesmithing, and I appreciate all of the informaiton I have gleaned from you guys.
I finally have a decent shop outfitted in one bay of my garage. People in this area who need time with a forge or grinder should email me.
Any advice is welcomed, and I enjoy getting together with others who forge, grind, etc..
