  1. I take things slow, and this project took me a year to complete (partially because I'm still a student, but mostly because I kept goofing up). This theme, with the black, ivory, koa, and hamon, was in my head for a long time and I finally finished it. It may not look that challenging but for some reason, it was really difficult for me Facebook video tour: https://www.facebook.com/DonNguyenKnives/videos/1004971822859239/ Comments, criticism, and questions are welcome.
  2. Thanks guys! Much appreciated.
  3. Finished these right on New Years eve.
  4. Well this was one heck of a challenge for me. I started about 15 knives 3 weeks ago and finished them this morning at 2am, right in time to sleep and start school again. I learned more than I could ever dream of. I have a BladeForums WIP where I worked through some of the general processes: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1205062-WIPs-Kitchen-Knives-Galore
  5. It's on a failed blade, but this is my first hamon.
  6. Thanks Darren, I appreciate the kind words. I make knives whenever I can but I am not a full-time maker. Taking orders has been really hectic for me (especially as a college student) and I have decided not to do orders anymore. Now I only make what interests me and put it up for first grabs.
  7. Thanks everyone! Son, if the time ever comes up that you would like one made again, just give me a shout I might not do orders anymore but I can always make an exception...
  8. Latest k-tipper, 210mm, 1084. Thanks for looking
  9. Thanks guys! Much appreciated. Here is a quick comparison picture for size reference:
  10. I've been working on this one for over a year now. Forged and finished from 1084 with Ironwood and Ivory Paper Micarta. I don't think I'll make something again like this for a long time; for me, it was a pretty challenging piece
  11. Hope you guys enjoy my first video! All criticism, comments, and questions are welcome. Eventually I'd like to start doing more professional videos to share.
