    Falchion class in Phoenix AZ.

Awesome to see! Do you clamp between the boards to correct any warps/keep straight as it cools down to room temp?

    New Damascus Santoku

Hey all - I've just finished this one up. 8" santoku-like - 1084 n 15n20. I definitely though it was sanmai - with the core being a different pattern/orientation of damascus, but either I lost it somewhere in the grind, or I totally used the wrong billet. I suppose i'll have to start paying more attention to the steel I make and what knives are from which billets! The spacer is also damascus, just a scrap I had floating around. I etched it after gluing everything together so couldnt get it as deep as I wanted. I am scared to try using marking pins and glue every thing up after etching... maybe the next one. The wood is local AZ ironwood. Questions/criticisms really welcome!

    1850s French Folder?

My Grandfather gave me one just like that with the horn handle. Flying somewhere in the first year or two after 9/11, airport security took it from me. They wouldn't let me to turn around and mail it to myself, just took it. Now some dude has a family heirloom. They are really sweet little knives.

    Twisted pattern utility knife

Hey all Just finished up this one. I tried out a twisted pattern - was pretty pleased with how it turned out. I also tried for the first time finishing the blade on scotch-brite belts - the "ultra-fine" one seemed to leave it pretty ready for etching. Saved loads of hand sanding, so I am a fan. At least for damascus... Anyone else use em? I also have not really ever done plunges, and did these free hand. I really ought to get a file guide.... but 1095 and 15N20. ~120 layers - Koa scales and brass pins. as always, critiques are very welcome!

Sliceer/Meat carver - damascus, olive wood

Thanks very much Collin. Yea, I was pretty blown away with how the olive turned out. That knotty figure was hidden in the chunk I had. When I picked it up, I thought it was just going to be a lovely lighter, less complicated figure... little did I know that was hiding inside! I have a santoku type knife that is from the same billet of damascus waiting to be handled, and another chunk of "boring" looking olive. Who knows!
  8. Hey all, finally getting around to selling this one. ~70 layers of 1084 and 15N20, high layer damascus bolster, Bethlehem Olive wood handle. 10inch blade, razor sharp, 15.5" overall length $900 if you have any questions, or thoughts about it, please let me know! Thanks

    two new

Thanks all! For the Damascus blade, what type of wood do y'all think would look good for the sheath? I am not sure I can get more olive... Which would be the obvious choice..

    two new

Hey all, here are two that I have just finished up. the first is ~70 layers, 1084 and 15N20 - I was going for crushed Ws, but I only crushed 'em once, so ended up with straight lines... ferrule is a little piece of damascus off another billet. the handle is olive. I am super pleased with how the handle came out, I had no idea such a lovely knot was hiding in the middle of the block when I started! The second is w2 - I attempted a hamon, but I fear I didnt get hot enough along the spine for it to come out? or something. Etched and there was just a little line right at the edge, but no where near where the clay was. It did harden nicely along the edge. Who knows... handle is maple and iron wood, little brass bit too. as always, I am stoked to get pointers! Michael
