  1. Hello folks. I do not have blacksmith skills - but over the years I pretty much have fabricated a kazillion things from wood and metal. Right now I am trying to duplicate an iron fireplace decorative front for the new house I’m building. I foun the one in the attached photo at a fireplace shop ,but the price was way far outta my meager budget. The welding, cutting and bending are easy but the front face of the frame has these feature lines or crevices that really make the project standout. And for the life of me I can figure out how to recreate these artistic markings. It seems kinda like random tracks made in the metal. I’ve attached a couple photos to illustrate. If anyone has experience or an idea to help me here that would be so appreciated. Thanks for your time. Jim in Nashville, TN
