  1. Gentlemen, I have really enjoyed this task.....making something for another bladesmith for a change. I've done custom order work for folks before but mostly I make knives to learn and get better. The knife is 11.5" long with a 6.5" blade, (inspired from a photo of a knife ("Persian Knife") made by someone far better than me. The blade is damascus, (15N20 and 1095), I upset the width to add thickness as I knew I would lose that as I drew out the curve. Both scabard and handle are from the same wood, stained, sealed and polished. The guard is wrought, behind it is a buffalo horn spacer. I did not etch the wrought or damascus, I prefer the polish but whoever gets this is welcome to do so. The guard was fit perfectly tight no need to solder or epoxy, I am proud ot that. The copper add-ons were an attempt for add something thicker at the tang, they are silver soldered on. I wanted to add more details and intricate work but sometimes it's best left alone. Again, anyone who gets this is welcome to embellish, sell it, throw it away....I simply had fun doing it. It's the best I could do..today! Thanks, Gary
