Barbecue knife

Hello friends of the blade.

It has been a long time since I shown anything in these forums, but it is time to show a bit more presence here I thought...

So let me start with a customers order for a "large barbecue knife":

Blade forged from high carbon steel and 15N20 - 6 2/8 inch, 1/8 inch thick

Handle scales desert ironwood, with peened bronze pins and sinew, 5 inch long

Sheath is still in the makings, will be a simple leather sheath.

What do you think?

Greetings!

Mat

I LOVE it!!! :)

rustic but refined, deep rich redish desert ironwood. and the wrapped around cord is such a cool idea!!!

seriously awesome work!

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness,

nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend"

Glad you like it, guys. I made the sheath yesterday and will have a few pics up tonight.

Adlai, I have been worrying about grease and fat too. So I sealed the sinew off with glue. Still, the owner will have to get accustomed to cleaning it thoroughly, thats for sure.

Be back on you guys later,

Mat
