Ever dream about making knives?

I had a dream about sharpening a knife I had made. It wasn't about the making, just the final sharpening, right before you give it to the owner. Next day at work I remembered the dream and while I was running my machine I sketched it out. I still haven't made it. But I drew it out and saved the sketch. It's not bad. I belive in divine inspiration, have any of you ever had that happen to you? Think/dream about making a knife you haven't made yet? See one in your head and have to sketch it down? Maybe being without a shop for so long is messing with my mind. Jim

I often have these weird serial dreams, doing the same task over and over. I've been dreaming about some stuff that I have in process right now, trying out different solutions to problems. Mostly it's like working overtime without getting paid  .

Right now I'm trying to design a lock for a sword cane, but asleep or awake, I'm stalled.

It's not really my favorite thing to do, but it happens when I'm really wound up in a project.

So, just for the record: the fact that it does work still should not be taken as definitive proof that you are not crazy.

Not exactly on making knives, but I dream very often that I steal or find tools, steel or weapons. Most of the times it's rusty stuff, tongs, old knives, hammer heads, left in strange desert places like dead railway lines, or prairyes or beaches.

Once I dreamt that the sanmai billet I gave (in reality) to a friend was flawed.

All the time...I think that once I get the chance to try to make them once again the dreams will go away. Life has made it impossible right now, so I think I'm getting withdraw issues.

My life is like shaving with a razor sharp machete. It's a bit awkward and I feel a sting every now and then, but in the end I'm happy with the results.

I do that all the time, especially when I start doing something new. When I started making stained glass I kept a notepad next to the bed. Would wake up at 3 am and sketch 2 or 3 designs. Wife hated it

I have been talking to my wife and had an idea I just had to write down. Almost always a tool or a knife idea. I went through the withdrawl issues, making things for a living and not being able to work on your own stuff is maddening.

I have dreams about working though problems that I'm having. Finding ways to do things with the limited tools I have. Sometimes when awake, my wife and I will driving down the road (I'm almost always awake when driving) or just sitting together and I'll have a great big "Eureka!" and have to tell here about. She thinks I'm nuts. I don't argue with her...

I had the longest and most convincing dream about filing 3 knives. So much so that when I had woke up this morning I went looking for the blades. It really pissed me off. All that work and nothing to show for it!

I have only ever had one dream of forging a blade...it was a couple weeks back and it was a keris blade. So I started making one :)

I too believe in divine inspiration
