Antoine 0
On the banks of a river near where I live, I found this: Does someone has any idea what it is? Looks like some shell like animal.... Antoine http://antoinemarcal.wordpress.com
tsterling 40
I'm not positive, but I think it's a thing called "horn coral." You might Google that and see if I'm right... Tom SterlingTom's Instagram Tom's FacebookSterling Sculptures Web Site
B. Norris 13
Yes. That is definitely a fossilized Horn Coral. Below are some pictures. The first picture is what your piece would look like if you polished a slice of it. Below that is a picture of a cabachon made from material found in Utah that is colored red by mineralization. ~Bruce~ “All work is empty save when there is love, for work is love made visible.” Kahlil Gibran "It is easier to fight for one's principles than to live up to them." - Alfred Adler
B Finnigan 8
Cool find! My daughter is very much into fossils and she enjoyed seeing the pic. Everything I need to know I learned from the people trapped in my basement. I'm out of my mind but feel free to leave a message.
Antoine 0
Haa!! Thank you! I also found two little brachiopode, little fossilized shells. Acording to what I've read there are a few species in that spot. Somewhere there are trilobites... Antoine http://antoinemarcal.wordpress.com

I had a strange thought the other day. If I were locked in a room with a copy of myself, i wouldn't like me very much.
