That Louisville hammer isn't 100 years old, it is actually probably one of the last few 25#'s made. jm

The blade, elegant
Slicing through the sweet, warm breeze
with a precise hit.

Gold for the merchant, silver for the maid;
Copper for the craftsman, cunning at their trade.
Good! Laughed the baron, sitting in his hall;
But steel---cold steel---shall be master of them all!

You can tell when the hammer was made by the serial number. A number of 7476 is of fairly recent manufacture. Mine is #8865 and was delivered in 1976. So, no, the Louisville hammer is not "one of the last few made" but certainly not "100 years old". BTW, you can call Sid/Kerri and they will tell you the exact date your hammer was made and delivered. But $3800 for a #25'er? Alot for a smallish hammer.
