umbo
hi guys! after a long time without new piece (I had a lot of problems in the beginning of this new year, with a new power hammer,...), here is Faërie. This is a 9 1/2 inch knife, with a damascus blade of 280 layers. (15n20/1075 and a steel with 1,3% of carbon). A bronze guard , a carved box elder burl and a carved ivory Elf. umbo
Thanks at all! jared, I don't know for the hours...something like 3 weeks of work. A tutorial for the shape, why not, but it's very simple: I use the angle of the wheel of the grinder. Adlai, yes of course I do, but I don't show it! Cprokopp, it's really difficult in France too! It's possible to work professionaly elephant ivory but it's really complicate, and it's really difficult to find elephant ivory with a CITES number... I prefer to work mammoth ivory but I don't find any good piece since 8 month... Greg www.elfic.fr
