New work from Fuad Accawi

Hi All,

Here's a couple of knives I forged and finished over the last couple of weeks.

This is a knife that I really enjoyed making. It's closer to san-mai than Damascus at only 20 layers, but it yielded some interesting and beautiful results. Internally pinned & soldered bolsters with a Desert Ironwood handle and Bronze pins. 5.5" blade 5/16ths thick. 9 & 7/8ths overall.

Here's a Big Bowie. 640 layer Damascus throughout. 11&1/8th inch blade, 16&7/8ths inches overall. 1/4" thick at ricasso. Elk handle.

Here's an old pre-Journeyman's knife that I just sold. It was meant to look similar to the old Ames rifleman's knife.

Have fun looking.

The bolsters match really good, I mean at first look I thought it was an integral. The ironwood looks great. It looks good at 20 layers. The other 2 are also nice, I like the bottom one better. Jim

Beautiful work, Fuad.

I really like the steel on the high layer count bowie.

Well done!

Nice work, Fuad. I really like the Ames. That's one that I've made a couple of times, but never as nice.

WOW

i love the bold pattern in the first knife.....those low layer billets are just as attractive as the high layer , in there own way.

Thanks Andrew,

Last week I forged a knife with 640 layers, and one with 20 and I'm really liking the 20 right now- Twisted Bladesmith brain I guess.

Thank You Very Much Jim, Dave, and Geoff. Don't get me wrong, high layer Damascus is stunning but the low layer stuff is very bold and I think that I like it enough to do more. I will revisit the Ames knife also.

Looking good. The first one is indeed my favorite. Im itching to start doing some low layer stuff as soon as I get my new forge built in a week or two.

Great stuff!
