Niko,

I cannot see the details on the first blade but the second blade is beautiful. I assume you are using your own steel or a form of shear steel. Good luck in the competition! You are an inspiration to those of us with just a little less energy. Thank you.

Nice work. I love the blade on the second one.

Or any other man's,

Nor that I will be ashamed

Of my work torn hands-

For I have chosen the path I tread

Knowing it would be steep,

And I will take the joys thereof

And the consequences reap.

Hey man,

those are beautiful. I especially like the second, but both were good. The handle and pattern on second go together to form something with its own energy.

nice,

Kevin

I definitely think the maker is ready for competition. Form and function, can't get any better than that.

Hi Antoine.

Thank you.

About comp.

Im not sure how many times it has bean taken place..but I think over 10 years.

It s in place called Fiskars..It is quite small place, but about 100++ years ago it was big and full of life.

My info history of place is not good, but there has bean furnaces, forge..lots...They made knives, puukkos,axes....and many other edge / not edge tools.

Hammers...

The categories are:

Class II

- Open series...in this anybody can attend, and puukkos blade dosent need to be self made. We have lots shops / bladesmiths how sell also only blades.

- Utilitarian knives, sort of basic puukko

- Hunting puukko / blade

- Province puukko, like saame leuku, and many other styles.

- Jewellery, commemoration puukko, in our culture there is national costumes, whit that men / women wear puukkos at weast.

- Junior series

- Women´s series

International series is also.

- Open series

- Utilitarian knives

Class I

There is also series of champions..like these, but they are not allowed to attend on class II

They comp whit other champ´s ;)

The criterias

Im not sure what are they precisely...

But i think over all lines, quality of work, they also test puukkos by cutting piece of dry wood.

Desing is not issue..I hope...It would be sad if this kind of competion is "only" Fin traditional puukko" and now "own desing would be allowed"

It kills the spirit of creativity and I personaly dont like that...Puukko can be nice, funktional even it is not traditional...

In fact the first puukko ( pic) is all most traditional...sheet is not and handle is like water drop bit sharp on belly..Traditional is more like oval+ sheet is basic.

But we will se how it goes, it my first comp ....so im bit excited

How ever I dont present my puukkos to win something...Funktion of this I me bit different.

I just wanto join in and take this puukko making frwd.

Take care :)
