There is no try. Do, or do not. Thus saith Yoda, and he is right, methinks. :)

"We never failed to fail: it was the easiest thing to do." Song lyrics that get stuck in your head.

If you set your standards low enough, you always can say to yourself that you succeeded.

Eventually, you might even believe it.

A wise man once told me that half of the people in the world can't cope with failure, the other half can't cope with success.

Well, if you are trying to fail, and you do, then you have succeeded. I came upon this Wednesday night.

Thus Mathew once again steals my thunder!

The extraordinary has never been achieved without the sacrifice of security. Take your chances thin, and take them often.

Ty got this one right: It's all a matter of perspective. Some things you can't look at whole. Some things you need to break down.

The end goal is to succeed. It doesn't matter at what. By succeeding, you complete this goal, and have achieved success. However, succeeding at failing can also be seen as a total failure. In fact, it is both, and depends entirely upon the point of view of the person looking at it. There are four possible views of the situation, lumping them in to one will end in a fruitless cycle of confusion. Some assumptions must be made, of course. In this case, the fact that succeeding at failing leaves a mangled end result.

First, seeing the attempt to be a success, and the overall project a failure.

Second, seeing the attempt to be a success, and the overall project not a complete failure.

Third, seeing the attempt to be a failure, and the overall project a failure.

Fourth, seeing the attempt to be a failure, and the overall project a success.

Some of those scenarios are hard to do. In the second one you have to fail at failing, and still fail. That's pretty harsh.

So above and beyond I imagine, drawn beyond the lines of reason. Push the envelope, watch it bend.
