Thanks again my friends.

Last weekend we have had the German Guild show in Sindelfingen and so the time was sort to post the last pic. from building the RISING HOPE, but here we go. :rolleyes:

Man, that is a piece of work !!! thanks for showing... I love the pattern in the blade but there is one photo that shows the sanding marks... when I first looked I thought the sanding marks were the pattern in the steel... ( I'd love to see that pattern in steel and I couldn't figure how you did it .... LOL ) Nice forging too....

Dick, the damascus is not verry complecated.

I forged a billet from 64 layers than turned it 90° and streched it out to the doubble length, foldet it, fireweld it. This procedur 5 times than you get this pattern.

I agree , the pattern is very nice ... I don't think I explained myself very well..... There is one photo that shows the blade being sanded.... the blade is clamped to a 2X4.... The pattern of the scratches that are left on the blade are what caught my attention .... the damascus pattern of the steel doesn't really show up ... but the sanding scratches left a pattern that look almost like it could be damascus... almost like a feather pattern... some of the pattern has square ends and a few over lap so they look translucent .... I was thinking how cool it looked and how did he do THAT till I realized the pattern was from the sanding marks..... I went back and looked .... it still almost fools me....

Breathtaking package! Isn't it a full Integral knife? What's the name of that awesome damascus pattern? And it's very inspiring the way you fixed the belt clip to the sheath! Real great work, Uli!

So I have seen this WIP before and the knife is beautiful. Then a keep reading tonight and finally get to the sheath which is fine but . . . . . . . . . . .

 

That metal belt clip blows my mind. Not that its hard to blow my mind. But seriously that bit of metal sets the whole package off and sends it to the next level.
