Bryan Bondurant
Serge, Looks Fantastic! I think your new grinder is helping you really get your work clean. I'm a big fan of this style blade and make a few myself, I love anything "Tanto" and have since Cold Steel began advertising them in Blade Magazine, maybe early 80s, a long time ago anyway. jdsmith02115
Serge, that pretty bad ass. As usual, clean and to the point, no frills, no nonsense. The aesthetic of function.
KPeacock
Serge, that's exactly what I had in mind. I showed my mife a pic of it last night and she liked it as well. Trust me, that is quite a compliment. She thinks my forge, tools, and knives are all part of some silly hobby. Why make a knife when you can buy one, right? She just doesn't understand :-/ Have you ever thought about the life of steel? It's interesting to think that you can control the fate of a piece of metal. Trust me, that is quite a compliment. She thinks my forge, tools, and knives are all part of some silly hobby. Why make a knife when you can buy one, right? She just doesn't understand :-/ She doesn't understand because she is like 99.99% of the rest of the human population; for them a knife is a disposable object. It's something you get as cheaply as possible and use till it wears out or is lost, then get another one the same basis. She doesn't get that what we make are NOT disposable objects, but artifacts meant to be used with respect and caring. The pride of accomplishment and ownership is not considered by the 99.99. Kind of sad actually, so many tethered to the idea of low quality junk made to be tossed aside after a brief period of use.
omalley
now, i'm going to qualify this by saying i'm not a huge fan of japanese style blades *please noone hurt me* but that is a knife i would happily carry daily, and feel bad for days if i actually had to use, even if it does look like one of the least damage-prone designs i've seen in quite a while. in other words, awesome blade man, keep up the good work.
