Sam Salvati
JD, beautiful! Stunning! It is nice to see a quillon dagger that doesn't have thread in lathe turned quillons Let not the swords of good and free men be reforged into plowshares, but may they rest in a place of honor; ready, well oiled and God willing unused. For if the price of peace becomes licking the boots of tyrants, then "To Arms!" I say, and may the fortunes of war smile upon patriots

KPeacock
I'm not a sword guy, but I like this one. This has enough going on with it to be very aesthetic, but simple enough to have a looks that seems to me to fit a useful battle weapon. I can't imagine facing weapons like this on the battlefield. Have you ever thought about the life of steel? It's interesting to think that you can control the fate of a piece of metal.
Marcel54
JD, that's a real nice dagger. I love what you did with the top edge of the blade. Marcel Edited October 8, 2009 by Marcel54

Kevin Colwell
JD - once again, really well done. I keep looking at different details and thinking "that's neat, how did he do that?". the thing is, I find all sorts of things like that, and it all fits. Its not too dense or busy with detail. I don't really like most "art" stuff because they seem to detract from the general purpose and function. Your work has intricacy and skill of sculpture or jewelry without losing the essence of the blade (if that makes sense to anyone but me). thanks for sharing, again kc please visit my website http://www.professorsforge.com/ “Years ago I recognized my kinship with all living things, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on the earth. jdsmith02115
Wow guys, thanks for the nice words. Gotta tell you that I made this one about 10 years ago. It surfaced on an online auction and one of my local collectors snatched it up. He brought it in for some very minor maintainence and I decided to take a few shots while it was in my hands. I never got any pix of it before, so I was awfully glad to have seen it again! I'm going to shoot some pix of my ABS Masters dagger, as I've got it too for a brief time as well as the one above, The two have a lot in commom. You'll see! j.d.
