Martin Austwick
It's been a while... These two are made from W2 steel. The blade on the second one is fantastic! I love it... Hÿllyn
What's the material in the sandwich Jesus? buffalo horn? I assume the rest is copper with niage? if so I like the pleasant colour shown on the photos. Grey hair and alopecia are signs of age, not of wisdom... Rósta að, maðr! Jesus Hernandez
Thanks guys. You are absolutely correct Hÿllyn. The fittings, including the seppa/spacers and the habaki/neck collar are made of copper with niage patination. In between the spacers there is a piece of buffalo horn. Very keen eye. Enjoy life! Beau Erwin
what're the woods? Those are fantastic as usual Jesus. I like the blending of styles, kinda brings to mind a tanto and bowie blending. Jesus Hernandez
Ceylon satinwood. I like this wood because it looks different depending on which angle you look from. A nice shimmering effect. Amboyna wood. My all-time favorite. I never get tired of looking at this burl wood. Edited October 17, 2009 by Jesus Hernandez Enjoy life! Alan Longmire
Fabulous as usual, Jesus! I like both woods, the satinwood has a very clean look and the amboyna is, well, amboyna... Even got some utsuri goin' on in there. Nice.
Hÿllyn
The sheen and superficial translucence is what gives away buffalo horn to me. At first I also thought the sandwich you made for the guard reminded me of those norse and saxon sword guards (i.e Sutton Hoo and others). The aesthetic hibridisation that results from our interconnected reality is a fantastic thing in my opinion and can lead to rather interesting results. I really like the blades too. It's funny how they are very similar but at the same time the visual effect the hamon has on them kind of makes you think they are somehow different shapes. Jeff Pringle
Those are really beautiful, Jesus! You really know how to bring out the full potential of a hamon in that steel Jomsvikingar Raða Ja! http://vikingswordsmith.com

Sam Salvati
Jesus, beautiful pair! Let not the swords of good and free men be reforged into plowshares, but may they rest in a place of honor; ready, well oiled and God willing unused. For if the price of peace becomes licking the boots of tyrants, then "To Arms!" I say, and may the fortunes of war smile upon patriots
Beau Erwin
I've used satinwood, but not the variety from Ceylon =] The amboyna is pretty. Really like both.
