My anvil isn't secured to the floor. I move it into the center of the garage when the temp falls below zero F. so I can pull my truck inside. And yes, I do keep my shop at 64 degrees F. constantly. It's attached to my house, so it's pretty easy to do so. Thanks for the benefit of seeing such a well organized shop. plenty of ideas Looks like for now I'll need to move all my handle materials inside since I don't heat my garage right now. . If you are just setting up a shop, there are several safety factors to consider, and ventilation is one of the biggest. Propane forges eat enough oxygen and produce enough harmful gas to kill you quickly. Err on the side of over-ventilation. I always forge with at least one garage door open. Gary Mulkey Posted January 5, 2010 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Thanks for the tour. It's always enjoyable and informative to see another's shop. Pretty easy to see that you are much more organized than I. I'm one of those guys that is often asking "where did I put that". I hope that this starts a trend of showing everyone's facility. Since I don't own a video camera, I can't reciprocate with a shop tour of my new facilty but once our current snow comes off, maybe I can get the rest of the equipment in and take a few still pics. Paul Estes Posted January 6, 2010 Share Posted January 6, 2010 I finally was able to get around to watching your tour in peace, and like alot of shops I have seen I drooled over the equipment. Thank you for the tour, maybe someday when I have a working camera again Ill show off my tent.
