Isaiah Lake
This was a Christmas present for my dad. He didn't have anything but a box cutter to carry so I made him a pocketknife from a Nicholson file. The extraordinary has never been achieved without the sacrifice of security. jarrett
He will be proud. The first knife I ever made was for my dad and of a file as well. Noah M Legel
That looks like a very nice little user! The denim sheath is definitely an inventive idea--the only fabric sheaths I've seen have been nylon. Do you plan on making a leather or kydex one sometime in the future? I'd be happy to help if you have any questions about doing a leather one. All-in-all, nice job Isaiah! ~Noah Karate ObsessionWasteland LeatherworkThe Wasteland Crow Project
Isaiah Lake
I can do a leather sheath but I thought denim would be cool to try. I used several layers and sowed it up with copper wire .It worked pretty well. Edited January 8, 2010 by Isaiah Lake The extraordinary has never been achieved without the sacrifice of security. I used several layers and sowed it up with copper wire .It worked pretty well. Ahhh, I see--sorry about that! I just hadn't remembered seeing a leather one from you, so I wasn't sure if you knew how or not. It definitely did come out pretty cool, and like I said, it's something I've certainly never seen. Does it have a belt loop of any kind, or is it just a pocket sheath? ~Noah Karate ObsessionWasteland LeatherworkThe Wasteland Crow Project
Isaiah Lake
It's a pocket sheath. I could use some help finding better leather than I have available if you wouldn't mind. Noah M Legel
Sure. I use horsehide from Milton Sokol/DeMar Leather--just call 718-441-2226 and ask for Pete Olsen. Before that, I got my horsehide from Zack White, which is gonna be closest for shipping for you, and they have regular cowhide leather as well. There is a Tandy Leather Factory in Tucker, GA, but that's about 1.5hrs away from you, from what MapQuest tells me. ~Noah Karate ObsessionWasteland LeatherworkThe Wasteland Crow Project

dragoncutlery
if the sheath you have on it now doesn't need to flex you could soak it in epoxy and it would be a lot more durable as is just a thought Brandon Sawisch bladesmith eagles may soar but weasels don't get sucked in to jet engines
