Hello Ray--I like the knife. I like the handle and the fittings.

I am curious about the finish on the blade.

Chuck, Its just a cleaned up forge finish. I cleaned up the blade profile with the grinder and pickled the blade for a couple days. Then went over it real good a few times with synthetic steel wool.

Thanks RAY-- The pickling I had figured but the steel wool I did not.

5160 is good steel I watched a JS test at Dickie Robinsons last Saturday. Tronny Tolver(sp)of KNIFE PLUS in Amarillo did his testing.

He chopped and cut and bent like a champ. The full 90 and then slowly let it back up. It did not lack 10 degrees coming completely straight.

Tronny got a scald on that blade. He said the mates to it were just as good or better.
