Don, I can't begin to express how glad I am that "they haven't got you yet" to paraphrase your own words! I've been away from bladesmithing, the forum (and my emails) for some time while being self involved with my own problems in these trying times. You've been a continuing inspiration to me, and I know to countless others. If I resume my own bladesmithing as life sorts itself out for me and my family it will be directly attributed to you. Do what you need to do while you take stock of things, recover and enjoy your own life and loved ones knowing that you have done so much good for others. We love you Don and are in your debt in so many ways.

Keep up the return to health, Sir! Don't push yourself too hard, drink lots of water and sleep when the urge hits you.

Best wishes always,

Jim

Glad to hear you're back at home Don. Rest up, heal up, and take care of yourself first.

Sounds like he will be focusing on taking care of himself.

Over on bladeforums someone posted a letter from him that he sent to his mailing list, basically saying he's retiring.

Time to focus on family =] but will stay with the education aspect of the craft.
