Hi all, just finished this one. 1084 & 15N20, ebony and titanium 3/4" X 2 1/2" blade, 5 1/8" loa. Scott

OMFG this is actually well beautiful

i still cant figure how to make one of these type of knifes that lock once open.

does this one lock when its open?

It's a flat spring lock Hutton. When the blade opens the flat spring pops out and holds the blade. When you want to close it, you push the spring over with your thumb, allowing the blade to fall back enough to hold the spring down...then you close it.

 

Beautiful knife by the way...pattern welded steel is such an amazing medium for blades.

Wow I love that folder.

 

I don't see pins or screws. How is it held together?

Thanks! to all. This one is going to the owner of the company where i work, as a thank you. He has let me build about half the equipment in my shop (press, anvil, 2 forges, ect..) on weekends at no charge. I owe him much.

Really spectacular piece! Love the patterns, and the very clean "no pins" look. Nice blade shape, too...I would have a hard time not using it ;)
