Kevin Colwell
This is really cool. Daos seem to have been made in almost the same ways as the European constructions, and use clay ht some. see this for good analysis and great pics: http://www.metmuseum.org/publications/journals/1/pdf/1513063.pdf.bannered.pdf the only thing I don't like is that more of them do not have ridged constructions (like the shinogi on a katana). The exception is the willow leaf dao, which is almost exactly like the blade on a katana. But - so what - I will put ridges into mine anyway. There are a lot of Chinese people, surely there were a few back then with ridges. kc please visit my website http://www.professorsforge.com/ “Years ago I recognized my kinship with all living things, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on the earth. I said then and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it; while there is a criminal element, I am of it; while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.” E. V.
