here is a knife for my next show: the mean and scary ´ghetto-rat´ :angry:

 

blade:sanmai (W1/wrought iron)

guard: wrought iron

grip: smoked oak

total: 22cm

blade only: 10cm

thickness: 3,5-1,5mm

Awesome knife. It definitely pulls off mean and scary, while still being really elegant, especially with that guard and the finish you did on the oak. I am curious as well, however, how exactly did you smoke the oak like that?

@blacklionforge & dan scott,

 

the ´smoked oak´ is a modern, industral alternative (chemically dyed by ammonium/NH3 thorough and through) to the original many hundreds old ´bog oak´ with its common cracks and rotten parts.

it is used here for floor-boards.
