A First !!

Last summer I had made my third knife. A brief description is in order: Blade length 5 in,oal 9in,mat 5160,style cord wrapped wharncliffe.

This week I finally put a finished edge on it. It came out shaving sharp and I was pleased. Then today I was ithcing to cut something,so I did. I chopped through a 1 in hardwood dowel 3 times. It was still shaving sharp!!! No nicks, no rolls, no cracks!!!!! I was beside myself with glee. I was astonished and dumbfounded. It was amazing. I have been blacksmithing for over 19 years now and I have never felt this way about one of my pieces before.

I think I may be coming to a better understanding of the term "hooked" as it applies to this forum.

Thank you all for your knowledge and willingness to share.

Very cool I like it. Looks comfortable and useful. You'll be carrying it around for some time to come, I imagine and looking for an excuse to use it. Good job man
