Mr Octagon

Hey guys!

Last time i am spending long hours with forging spearheads. This time it came with socket in octagonal shape, just had enough of round ones :) Socket was fire welded than shaped on octagonal horn. Blade constructed from soft steel core, two pattern welded bars, nine layers each, twisted opposite directions. Cutting edges made out of old shear steel. Spearhead is 43 cm long.

You, sir, will never cease to amaze me. The octagon...it's so geometrically regular :ph34r:

I'm a huge fan!

I am so happy that you like it! :D I spent couple of hours with hand file to make edges really symmetrical after forming it on the octagonal horn. I based this one on spearheads from museum in Copenhagen, just changed blade shape a bit.

You are the MAN!!! I also really like how you used shear steel.

My life is like shaving with a razor sharp machete. It's a bit awkward and I feel a sting every now and then, but in the end I'm happy with the results.
