Kevin Colwell
always impressed, charles. beautiful. I think you may not have meant the sword was a kilometer. Maybe 1.0 meter? still, the fittings are beautiful, even if they are not the size of city blocks... kc please visit my website http://www.professorsforge.com/ “Years ago I recognized my kinship with all living things, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on the earth. I said then and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it; while there is a criminal element, I am of it; while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.” E. V. charles wu
Hi John, Yes, i agree. I always think that that's the best to leave it as it is, none other finish but a thin clear lacquer, And in this condition, i need to make it with copper soldering. Spectacular carving! Very well done What are you planning on doing for the blackened parts? Mark Green
Wonderful as always Charles. I love it!! John---- It seems that the preferred styles in China today, call for most things to be bright, shiny, and new. I made a tsuba for a well known Chinese smith, and he was wondering why it looked so old. I had done a fair bit of hammer work on it, and the patina was a lovely dark-chocolate brown. I hope he didn't strip all the patina off to make it all shiny and new. He told me that was what most of his customers in China wanted these days. ?? He told me they have plenty of old crap. And now that people had some money to spend, the shiny, and new, was in. Keep up the wonderful work Charles. Mark Green I have a way? Is that better then a plan? (cptn. charles wu
Hi Mark, In fact, the Chinese is one of the most rich people. as long as they like it. they would pay that, and they can pay that. As i know, most of the lovers prefer the replication fittings with a old look. and some of prefer the shiny look. Thanks Mark. Wu Wonderful as always Charles.
