Blade of the Kishtan Warrior

Recommended Posts

I finally wrapped up my KITH project. :)

San Mai wrought iron over O1, with a wrought iron bolster.

BL 7.25"

OAL 12.25"

I was going for something that had a gritty and worn feel to it. Sort of outside of my comfort zone, but I am happy with the results.

Whoa! I dig that.

Very nice lines. Dark, sinister feel. The runes are a nice touch also.

It feels like it has a story behind it.

Amazing knife! What kind of wood did you use? I really like it.

Ditto to what Dave said. Nice sleek lines! The wrought san mai is something I am trying of late. Wish mine looked as good as yours.

Very nice.

I know I've seen that script, but I can't find it in my font library, Alphabet of the Magi?

Bold design and marvelous execution. If you stepped outside what you would otherwise have been comfortable doing, bravo on the finished package. Very well done.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I usually tend toward more historically inspired pieces, but this was a lot of fun. The wood is Mora, I picked it up at local wood crafting store and have been saving it to pair with some wrought iron. The letters are actually symbols I just made up, though they are influenced by both traditional runes and the Vulcan script from Star Trek. ;)

I was lucky enough to receive this knife today. It is absolutely stunning. I am thoroughly impressed with the level of craftsmanship and the pattern welded blade is beautiful. Thanks Mark for putting this one in the KITH!!!

Thanks,

Lane Moore
