Karl B. Andersen
One I haven't made another one of in four years now. I find this particular knife relaxing to build. W2 blade and Blackwood with stainless take-down fittings.

Raymond Richard
Karl, How come this bowie is more relaxing to make than a different bowie? Nice bowie, hope Atlanta pays off for you. Raymond Richard www.hawknknives.com
Rob Toneguzzo
I Really like the shape of the blade and handle! "Old dogs care about you even when you make mistakes" - Tom HALL - Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon wine.

I hope Atlanta pays off for me, too. I always file all my handles to shape. So, filing this octagonal handle so all the facets come out right makes me slow down and take my time. I really enjoy watching all the flats slowly come to shape. I just enjoy it a lot - go figure.

Karl, Thanks for the explanation. I prefer a 50 grit belt instead of a file. Once you turn into one of us seniors you'll understand. I just enjoy being in my shop. Ray, I'm only 2 years from 60 and get "senior" discount at all the restaurants. How long have you considered yourself "senior"? Do I qualify? jaka
I really like the design of your Bowie. It looks rugged but comfortable. The blade design is superb as is the Sombrero knife on your other post. Also glad to see there are other "Seniors" on here. Makes the backaches and sore hands not seem so bad since I'm not the only one. (70 this year).
