BCROB
The problem with a lot of makers marks is the absence of a name. When someone finds a really cool knife in their dads attic, they're gonna want to search and find more about it on the Internet, If only to find out how much it's worth. ........agree 100% , many of my orders stem from the name and home-town makers marks stamped or etched on my blades........... Buck Hedges
I went back and looked at my mark and realized that while it made sense to me, it might not to anyone else. So I redid it. I still haven't figured out a way to work my name into it, though. Black is the edtched part, white would be the surface of the blade. It would be about an inch across. Truth simply is. Whether you like that truth or not is totally irrelevant. https://www.facebook.com/StormsForge">https://www.facebook.com/StormsForge

Miles Hebbard
Well my mark has always been 'MH' filed into the spine in the center of a vine pattern, the same one for 17 years, then I started 'custom' knives, these had an additional 'Ikisu' etched on the blade, to take the mickey out of a frenchman who ordered a folder 'just like camels' "La Guiolle" (french for 'the knife') ikisu is Swahili, meaning 'the knife' this only goes on blades made to a customers specific design not my run o' the mill knives... Caleb Harris
Until I come up with something better, I'm just using my initials in cursive. Trying to make each knife just a little better than the last

Collin Miller
Here's my maker's mark, no stamp (yet) so I burn or chip carve it into the wood as of right now.It actually is not inspired by runes, at the time I was really thinking about maker's marks, but I didn't like any I thought of. When this just by chance showed up on just a simple self handled knife I made... pretty freaky, I thought it was cool though, so I ran with it.Here it is burnt onto the handle of a dagger I made. Karter Schuster
Its a beta for me, but its a combination of the futhark letters R and K, with a bit of flair. Inspired by Ben Potter to be honest.
Tito
Here's mine...I designed it to be a monogram, representing my initials (OM). A whole bunch of people, including my wife, have told me it looks like a bat, though... /> Yes, indeed your mark looks a littlebit like a bat...no doubt! Just be careful not to get into trouble with a well-known German knife brand, which keeps the bat indeed as mark for their knives (***just kidding concerning the trouble***) ;-) PS: For your information - the knife manufactory I meant is Nesmuk - nesmuk.de/en

R.W. Deavers
This is absolutely a good idea. This is about as good of a picture of my mark as I can find. I hot-stamp my mark into my knife blades as shown. The knife shown is a simple hunter type with a full tang. The blade is hand forged from 5160 coil spring from a train car. You are NEVER too old to learn something new.
Brian Dougherty
I posted this one in the show and tell section, but never put it here where it belongs. There isn't much meaning behind why my touch mark is a turtle. I just like turtles -Brian
Austin_Lyles
Thought I'd just put mine up. It's not too original but it looks nice and simple. I kinda have named myself Wildcat Knives. The back story is my family had only 1 cat when we moved out to Bastrop a few years back. Well, a feral cat had some kittens in the hay barn, and because my family rescues anything within a 5 mile radius, we took them in (shots, spayed, neutered etc). So now I cringe whenever I tell people we have 5 cats. I thought it'd make a great story when people ask me about the logo. Caleb Harris
Lucked out and am getting a stamping die laser engraved within the next few weeks. Brad Woollon
Up until this last weekend, I was just engraving my logo, but shaky hands (runs in the family) usually made me have to re-do it, so I made my own logo stamp, and used it for the first time! pretty impressed with the stamp, but got a double logo in the blade (doesn't bother me all that much). It is a bit of a twist on the runes for fire (triangle) Iron (arrow) and sulfur ("T" shape with circles on the ends). Beginner knife maker looking to learn more and grow in the art! David Fischer
Here is mine. I mainly make 18th century blades so I tried to create a mark with a 'Colonial' feel to it.
