John Rigoni
I had to share. I've been having to hand drill for the last 8 months or so and washing out just about every hole I've tried. Christmas present arrived today; Grizzly 1005Z Drill/Mill. The best part is it runs on 110v and has a 1hp motor so I can run it in my shop; this thing is huge. I will keep you all posted as to how it functions, very exciting
JJ Simon
I know your excitement. Before Christmas I got a used 2hp 110V Mill Drill. The possibilities seem endless.
B Finnigan
I have a griz dovetail column drill/mill and it's exceeded all my expectations. Five years of almost daily use and it's still running like the day I bought it. I hope this one serves you just as well. The amount of things you can do are only limited by your imagination. And when it comes to knife making they can be used for much more then slotting guards. Get a very heavy vise for it and a set of parallel bars along with a few carbide ball nose and endmills and you'll be off to the races. I use the griz 80 Lbs 5" vise and it has been adequate for most projects. The R-8 spindle will let you use a vast variety of tooling that is available. Everything I need to know I learned from the people trapped in my basement. I'm out of my mind but feel free to leave a message.
