Justin Lewis 0
This is the first knife i have ever made. I've had my forge for about 7 Months. Any tips or custructive critisism would be appricitated. It was all done by hand. I do not, as of yet, own a press or power hammer. I am trying to build a press now. I started with 7 layers, alternating 1095 and 15n20. I ended at about 150 or so layers. The handle is Desert Ironwood wich i hand carved and finished on my belt sander. It has a 4.5 inch blade and is about 9 inches overall.
Luke_Sorensen 0
wow that is rather nice for your first knife your fit and finish looks pretty good and I like the design. The only thing that occurs to me is the handle. how does the upswept handle feel???
Mark Green 17
Very cool Justin!! Your first pw looks just about like mine did. I had no clue what I was doing, just trying to stick steel together, and fold it over, or stack it. I think you did a fine job for your first time. I think my first 3-4 died along the way when I got impatient, or burned it up. Keep at it.
Justin Lewis 0
The handle feels good in my hand, but having no experience i probably wouldn't know any different! Thanks for the Comments.
