in the old forrest

Stepping out of the ancient trees and thick undergrowth into the clearing, the bright sunlight blinded the young man. In the center of the clearing next to a clear spring stood a single massive oak tree, twisted and gnarled with age. In the shade of the ancient tree there sat the skeleton of a man, drawing closer the young man could see an axe and knife beside the remains. Kneeling down the young man saw that while the tools were worn and weathered their edges were still keen and the steel bright,picking up the axe he noticed faces carved into the haft. Looking up on the tree next to the old bones were carved these words: Let an honorable man take up these tools for the task laid before him. . .
