jpsowers
I have made some stock removal knives but this is one of my first forged ones. It is from a 3/8" round bar of 52100. It finished out with about a 3" blade.
Isaac Humber
Looks like you spent some time polishing ....I can see the workshop ceiling ! I like the blade shape. What is the black substance in the transition from handle to blade? It it does a lot to ruin the asthetics on an otherwise nice looking piece. https://www.facebook.com/OfHiltAndHammer
jpsowers
The blade is the bar stock left as is when it came out of the forge. I wanted some of the rough steel left visible
Isaac Humber
So then it's the integrated bolster that I'm seeing, left "in the rough" ? Interesting. The photo wasn't very close-up ,so I guess I missed that. https://www.facebook.com/OfHiltAndHammer
