Great knife Tomas! Don't know anything about the mechanisim though!

 

Miles - think OKAPI and you should have an idea - just a lot more refined.

Awesome work, that is a very cool knife.

I too have never seen that lock mechanism. Am I correct that it is similar to a lock back, but instead of pushing on the back of the spring your pulling on the front? Also with the ratcheting, can it be locked in any position?

Yes, you pull up on the front of the lock bar instead of pushing down on the rear. I always heard the racheting was a noisemaking device to inform your adversary that things just got serious... :ph34r::lol: In reality I suspect it's a means of preventing the blade from closing accidentally while you're opening it, but Navajas do not lock in any position but open. I don't know about Tomas's version, he may have gone one better! B)
