KITH 2014 sign up thread

Unfortunately, I need to drop out. My summer's looking a little too hectic to get this project done. I'm really disappointed that I won't be able to participate with you guys, but life's dictated otherwise. I'll hopefully have more time next year.

As much as I hate to say this: I must rescind my entry. My day -ob schedule has become all encompassing. I just can't put the time and effort needed to make a blade of suitable quality to participate. I will observe from the sidelines.

I will be with drawing my bid to this entry! As I have a ton on my plate at this time and Will Not be able to complete this obligation in a timely manner. I hope to try next year when things are better suited to my health abilities are a bit stronger .

Best Regards & Blessings Brothers

I'm a bit new here, so I'm not 100% on what KITH is. Is it like a randomly assigned trade path for works created by listed individuals? If that's the case, I am SO in!

John, that is more or less exactly what it is. Everyone involved makes something according to the theme (described somewhere around here for this one in particular) and at the end of the timeframe, everyone's names go into a 'hat' and get drawn randomly. First name sends their piece to the second name, second to the third, etc. until the last person (who goes to the first).

On another note, I have to withdraw. Moving took a hit on shop space (now non existent) so there's almost no chance I'd be able to complete this. Next time perhaps..

Looks like I am losing my job in a week or so. That means everything I make will have to go up for sale. If I don't get canned I will submit my knife but for now I am going to duck out.

Just a head's up.... if you need more time, the deadline can be adjusted. My question is, how much time do you need?

I'd really like to take mine with me to Bowie's to show off, so I vote for 2 extra weeks.... :)

(this will give me time to make a good sheath)

I will do whatever decided. I am planning to finish mine this week but I could use the extra time as my back is not responding to therapy I think everyone would appreciate a little more time.

Just pass the word around, I think there's about 22 folks still in the hat.

My best ya'll, Gary T.

I would hate to drop out, but I too will need more time. Like maybe late October...

late October would work better for me...

but I don't know if I should opt back in. I don't want to piss anyone off...

any suggestions?

I vote we go with the end of October then. If anyone objects, please speak up now.

This should give those who are running tight time to finish, and those who are finished time to make sheaths...:)

(note that sheaths are not required but very welcome if you decide to make one)

I am likely out due to family schedules and a few commissions I need to finish.

If a miracle happens and I finish by the time the final "Finished List" thread is posted...I will jump back in.

Hey guys, I haven't been on the forums in AGES as I've had a lot of stuff going on the last few months. I haven't even been able to finish my first knife that I've been nearly done with since like Feb.

As a result of this I'm going to have to drop out of this year's KITH from lack of practice and lack of time.

Good luck to everyone though!
