Gary Mulkey 1,283
I wanted to give this fighter a slender, fast blade and something to give it a bit of a unique look. I decided to do that with a different type of ring guard. The blade & guard are of a low layer laddered "W" and the handle is a nice piece of Afzelia Lay. Let me know what you think. Gary Mulkey 1,283
Thanks, everyone. I'm glad that you liked it. It's always fun to try to come up with something new this way. Derrick, Afzalia grows in tropical Africa & Asia. I'm not positive but I believe that when it is called Afzalia Lay they are referring to the burl. However there are 13 varieties of it and I'm not positive. It has the most unusual smell to it when grinding of any wood that I've used. Not offensive, just very unusual and hard to describe.
