KUKRI

Recommended Posts

Hi again!

i allways wanted to make one of these and a broken leafspring of the boat trailer was the starting point.

i usualy don't trust much most of the leafsprings for knives cause very few of them become hard enough, but for big heavy choping blades all leafsprings work well.this one came out prety hard in the end.

thank you guys!

VERY nice. How did you do the bolster?

the bolster is a solid piece of brass and not forged from a sheet like nepalese smiths do them.i do not know that technik yet but i want to try it one day.

There is something to be said for clean, nice simple execution. You certainly did that here Krateros. Man, that is a great looking kukri.

Thank you all very much!!!

Looks good. How does it handle?

it works realy fine.i always believed that big heavy blades are clumsy and difficult to work with but this proved me wrong.it is amazingly accurate even if you chop really hard.i think i'll start making more of them :D
