Damascu Chakram

Recommended Posts

Damascus Chakram (Sikh throwing disc) forged from ladder W's damascus. This blade is less than a third of what I started with. There was some creative blacksmithing which Tiaan Burger helped me with and some creative engineering from another friend. While it appears to be a simple damascus disc I assure you the process to get it there was a challenge

Alan, it came to me as a rectangular bar. I did a flat bend into a ring(ish) shape, lap welded using my charcoal forge, then trued up into a circle over the anvil's horn, all under Stu's watchful eye. (He did the worrying and worked the bellows.)

Stu will have to explain what happened before and after.

That's awesome! The Rajput were really creative with their weaponry. Have you cut anything with it yet?

Ha! On fb I can't zoom! Had no idea what Stu was up too! Neat weld Tiaan, hard to see on a small screen, not what I'd expect, but cool work, both of you!!!
