1 1/4" Cable

Recommended Posts

This one is 1 1/4" cable that is 14 5/8" long. I said it before and I will say it again "this is the last time I will forge 1 1/4" cable". Just too damn hard on an old fart.

Wade, I had to go take a look at your profile after this quote, "This one is 1 1/4" cable that is 14 5/8" long. I said it before and I will say it again "this is the last time I will forge 1 1/4" cable". Just too damn hard on an old fart."

Somehow I had you pictured in my mind as quite a bit younger than me but hockey sticks, you is 2 yrs. older than me" :o:lol: Aw don't take it personal age is just a state of mind. According to your profile looks like we kind of walked the same tracks in life, to a certain extent anyway!

That is awesome blade! Did you hand forge that??? I can imagine if you did you were worn out!

You done a good job on it! Two thumbs up!2thumbs.gif

What is the handle length on that one??

Very nice knife. I tried making cable damascus once and had to through out my bricks in the bottom of the forge because there was a swimming pool of flux on them. Lot of work but in your case we'll worth it!

I see on your profile you were born in Wyoming just curios where as that's my native state too?

I recently forged a 2 foot piece of 1 1/4" cable into a sunobe for a wakizashi. All by hand using my 2.5 lb hand-held hammer.

Ya... I'll never do that again.

Thank you all for the comments, I am feeling better already. :)

C Craft, Started with the press and finished by hand hammering. Handle is 4 5/8" New pic shows balance point.

Kip, Start with press and finish with hand hammering.

Jess, Born in Casper and lived in and around Thermopolis. Where are you???

Again thank you all for the nice comments.
