Hello Gents,

Was curious if anyone knows what has become of Chuck Burrows from Wild Rose Trading Co. I understand that he was having some problems with his health. In my opinion Mr. Burrows, Karen Shook (who makes sheaths exclusively for MS Daniel Winkler), and John Cohea are the best in the business as far as rawhide sheaths. I sent Mr. Burrows an email months ago and never received a reply. I hope he is ok.

Not to speak for Chuck but he is still around. He is battling cancer and the last I knew he was having some really rough time of it! His work is hard to beat and his knowledge of the history of knife making and history in general as to how it relates to America's expansion westward is among the best!!

Your post got me to thinking and I believe I have seen some recent posts by him, on a few other sites but, not for sure will have to go back and take a look!

OK found a post by him on another site which is Traditional muzzleloading site as recent as 03-26-15. So he is still posting just not as often as he used to! Chuck has responded to subjects on different forums that I have posted and when asked a question on those forums he usually will respond to the question.

However I have never had much luck at getting Chuck to answer an email or a PM. I think if he don't recognize the name he don't respond or at least that has been my experience!

C Craft Customs ~~~ With every custom knife I build I try to accomplish three things. I want that knife to look so good you just have to pick it up, feel so good in your hand you can't wait to try it, and once you use it, you never want to put it down ! If I capture those three factors in each knife I build, I am assured the knife will become a piece that is used and treasured by its owner! ~~~ C Craft

I'm still alive and kicking but dealing with the big C takes up the vast majority of my time. I have an appointment in Denver at St Luke's next month for a bone marrow transplant that should cure this, but it takes about a month for the therapy. I still "lurk" on most forums I always have been a member and as noted try and answer when I'm up to it or the chemo brain fog isn't affecting me. ;)

If things go right I should be back on my feet by the fall and hope to get some work done.

Any problems with email were probably due to my lack of having Internet at times - email try this: wrtcleather@gmail.com

my regular email has a pretty aggressive SPAM blocker and I don't always keep up on checking it for wrong blocks.
