KITH 2015 official drawing (or, the time has come for real this time)

Recommended Posts

Well, I was going to suggest a new KITH. Based on the last vote, Bowies were also favored and would be a good choice for all.

I thought, hidden tang/slab or maybe pioneer America - Sheffield - San Francisco or recreate your version of the original J. Bowie knife with some sort of historical evidence toward the styling.

But not sure if we could get enough to participate?

Huh.?

Has anybody heard anything from Sam, he hasn't been on facebook either. Maybe there is a curse on this kith.

I have not heard back from him since last week (I first contacted him Monday)... I figure if he doesn't get it done tonight I'll see if we can't get one of the other mods to do it. I guess the good thing is, we gave everyone plenty of extra time to get their's done.

Hi Guys,

George contacted me tonight.

Unless Sam gets back in contact within a day or so, I'm happy to step in and do the drawing.

Thanks for asking. I'm sure Sam has some pressing business.

Great KITH guys. Congrats on all the cool blades.

Dave

And the random results:

George Ezell -- James Fuller

Hloh -- John Page

Brian Dougherty -- Juho Voutilainen

Gabriel R. Paavola -- Gary Toulomelis (jajimi)

John Kruse-Kanyuck -- Kevin Hopkins

dylan holderman -- Michael Lenaghan

Dan Rice -- Dan Bourlotos

Unfortunately . . . we did not have an even number of finishers. The name left by it's lonesome in the hat was:

Dion Grethen

I'm not entirely certain how to remedy the situation. Thoughts?

Dave

That works, although has any one heard from heard Sam, it's like he fell off the face of the earth. Thanks Dave and Michael.

I don't know the drawing took place from a blind hat "so to speak", but a circle gets everyone in and I'm good for that.

It's been a wild ride here and I am anxious to make sure I get mine shipped as I have hip surgery coming due. :)

Oh . . I see. Circle. Yup. Makes sense. Sorry, I didn't quite grok that method. I just drew them by two's.

Thanks!

Wow, I get to send mine to the Puukko master. Now I am a bit humbled/embarrassed

Brian,

I don't see why you should be embarrassed - it's a beautiful puukko. I am the one humbled and honored, especially because this was your first. Thank you so much.

Besides, I'm still an apprentice, and not even that, really (officially). We have a handful of master bladesmiths here in Finland, and I am not one of them... yet :P. Let's see in ten (twenty) years.
