A milestone for me - hamon and koa

Recommended Posts

I take things slow, and this project took me a year to complete (partially because I'm still a student, but mostly because I kept goofing up). This theme, with the black, ivory, koa, and hamon, was in my head for a long time and I finally finished it. It may not look that challenging but for some reason, it was really difficult for me :)

There's nothing simple about that besides the look of the design, that is a hell of an accomplishment! I've admired your pieces for a long time and this one is just ratcheting it up another notch!

looks nice. the handle and fittings look like they would have been challenging.

I like it.

“Years ago I recognized my kinship with all living things, and I made up my mind that I was not one bit better than the meanest on the earth. I said then and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it; while there is a criminal element, I am of it; while there is a soul in prison, I am not free.” E. V. Debs
