Pattern Welded Straight Razor

Recommended Posts

This is my first straight razor, but not my last!

The blade has an edge length of 2.5in. It is composed of a pattern welded steel blade (15n20 and 1084), buffalo horn scales, and silver pins

The box is made of cedar, rosewood, padauke, and cherry burl. The "nails" are silver and there is mokume-gane of silver, bronze, and copper inlayed beneath the cherry burl visible through the holes left by a knot when i book matched the piece.

The price is-Sale pending

Nice! I'm sure that's going to make somebody really happy. There's something about these knives we use every day that cannot be replaced. Like J.D. Smith said, " Life's too short to put up with ugly knives!".

Nice one Kevin! But.. how does it shave? :-) The last one I made lifted arm hairs like they didn't exist... but was like taking a cabinet scraper to my face. You really learn the meaning of 'sharp' when you make these though. If I ever take a commission for one I will plan to get the geometry right but then send it out to a pro for the final honing. I just don't have the touch.

Anyway... I'm certain this will find a home soon. Wonderful package.
