Matthew Rhame
Anyone have any grinding jigs that they'd care to show off? I'm looking to put a Scandi grind on a blade and I'm curious as to how different people go about it. + Veritas Vincit + "Failure is the mother of success" ~ Chinese proverb
Alan Longmire
Look on the ends of your arms, that's where most of us keep them.
Mike Sheffield
I wish I could grind freehand, but I ues this. http://www.7kmetalworx.uk/adjustable-angle-jig.html My life is like shaving with a razor sharp machete. It's a bit awkward and I feel a sting every now and then, but in the end I'm happy with the results.
Justin Mercier
I've been working on a precision grinding jig for a machining job that I've got, with a single axis 50thou per revolution big 10" square slide with a rotating mount vertical adjustment tower ontop of it, taken from a surface grinder. Mounted to the tower is a pivoting angle plate with T slots to mount the piece to. What struck me though is... if i mount a set of linear bearings to the T slot and mount a blade holding fixture to a set of rails, I could have one heck of jig for grinding blades too, infinitely adjustable in almost every axis. --- Justin "Tharkis" Mercier www.tharkis.com
